Angel Tacos Information

If you’re driving along North Dixie Boulevard in Odessa, it’s easy to miss how much personality is packed into Angel Tacos until you actually pull over and step up to the window. The setup is simple and unpretentious, but that’s part of the charm. This is the kind of place where the focus is clearly on the food, not the frills, and it shows in the steady stream of locals who seem to know exactly what they’re coming for.

The menu leans heavily into classic Mexican street fare, with tacos taking center stage. You’ll find staples like carne asada, al pastor, and barbacoa, all served on soft corn tortillas with the usual lineup of onions, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime. What stands out is how fresh everything tastes. The meat is well-seasoned and cooked with care, not overly greasy, and the tortillas have that slightly toasted edge that makes each bite feel complete. The salsa options add another layer, ranging from mild to a slow-building heat that doesn’t overpower the flavors.

There’s a casual, almost laid-back atmosphere around the place. You’re not coming here for a sit-down dining experience with polished décor; instead, it feels more like a quick stop that turns into a lingering meal because the food is just that satisfying. Service is straightforward and efficient. Orders come out quickly, and even during busier times, there’s a sense that the staff knows how to keep things moving without making you feel rushed.

One thing that comes up often in reviews is consistency. Regulars talk about how the tacos taste the same week after week, which is something not every small spot manages to maintain. It’s also worth noting that portions are generous for the price, making it a solid choice if you’re looking for something filling without spending much.

The location itself is convenient, especially if you’re passing through Odessa or live nearby. It’s easy to access, with enough space to pull in, grab your order, and enjoy it on the go or nearby. While there isn’t a lot of detailed public information about sourcing or specialty ingredients, the overall quality suggests a focus on freshness and traditional preparation methods.

What really defines the experience here is how grounded it feels. There’s no attempt to reinvent tacos or dress them up beyond recognition. Instead, Angel Tacos delivers exactly what you hope for from a neighborhood taco spot: flavorful food, quick service, and a reliable menu that keeps people coming back.

What People's Say About Place

This place is amazing.. we stopped for the rumors saying this is best mundo in town. So far eating it and leaving no trace it was amazing.. we ate all of it. The mundo had almost zero fat. So wasn’t greasy at all. It was so perfect.. then we got 4 tacos to try out since it’s 99cents per taco..

Edit: 5/10/25 Very disappointing food today. Chile relleno was in scrambled eggs, and topped with cheese- not like being folded into the egg and fried. It wasnt good. Rice was terrible. Sweet tea had gone super sour. I usually come every mother's day or day out with my daughter. Im not sure how old the food was. The anehiem pepper seemed very aged, not fresh at all. I probably won't be back. Authentic, quaint, delicious as the pictures promised. No complaints from me. Pretty authentic, especially the restroom.

Love this place, been eating here for about 14 years! They have great service, people and food!

I get a barbacoa burrito several times a week. It’s so good I never want to order anything else. Maybe one day I’ll get there. The barbacoa burrito is very flavorful. The pico is nice and spicy. The salsas are so good and spicy also. The ladies working there are very humble and welcoming. The gentleman that works there is friendly and also welcoming. Awesome place to go for burritos. And I’m sure the other food items are delicious. I just remembered , I’ve had their asado burrito before. It was awesome.

Hole in the wall restaurant in an old gas station owned and ran by a sweet husband and wife couple. Don't expect much with the appearance. The booths were home made and the building was patched together and worn. The food was homemade, delicious, and very reasonable priced.

Food was really good! Excellent service! 4 stars because the door slams kind of loud if you let it go.

This place is a surprise you have to find. Excellent food. Authentic Mexican food made by great hands. Everything was so flavorful. Restaurant was clean. Service was with a smile and a “Bless you”. If this restaurant was in the center of town they wouldn’t be able to keep up. Once people find out about their food she’ll have to hire a dozen more people. Did I mention the food was amazing?

Always come for the menudo and its always so good!! Staff is always friendly. Never had a bad experience
